Transitional and evolving energies of life and death, predator and prey, and spiritual connectivity are expressed in a complex but fluid narrative in the artist's 'supreme abstraction' platform. The lion and its [predatorial] energy are conveyed in minimalist fashion, part of a natural [universal] force. The deer, whose energies are being released unto the world, is going into physical submission - 'structurally' seen with X-rays of the bones, including the heart. There are many hidden elements and meanings within this complex and dynamic movement and [survival of the fittest] narrative that simply can be seen as a ‘beautification’ of death...but a continuance of life

This work illustrates the intense energy and grace of the matador’s movements as he tries to challenge and evade the charging bull: two forces of nature co-exist in a delicate balance until one wins. The elegance of this tragic pas de deux is highlighted by gold accents on the matador’s ornate outfit.

More minimalist than the other works in the series, the inward and outward movements in this work emanate from a concentrated core only to fade into the edges of the canvas. Strategically placed gold ‘shimmers’ provide subtle accents to the composition.

The first in the series, this work explores the build up and break-down of energy by depicting the interaction between the head of the charging bull and the matador’s red cloth. The bull’s energy - disappearing in the last fight of its life - is absorbed by the forces around it.
